QV 1875 2½d. Rosy mauve Plate 2 Blued Paper. Supplied by Stanley Gibbons price £2,250= SG retail card accompanies stating: (Blued paper). Very fine and fresh unused IMPERFORATE IMPRIMATUR lettered A-C. Scarce, one of only 23 possible examples many of which are in institutional collections. Superb colour full original gum example. The watermark anchor Blued paper 2½d. Rosy mauve is an exceptionally rare stamp catalogued £8,000. This imperforate example cut from the 1st sheet is available in superb condition for this at a faction of the £8,000 against the SG Specialised CV £2,500=. This may be the only practical way to acquire SG138 Plate 2 on blued paper. You judge. An imprimatur in stamp collecting is the very first sheet of stamps printed from a new, approved printing plate. Derived from the Latin word for 'let it be printed', these sheets serve as official physical records and colour proofs before a stamp is printed for public service. Magnificent colour. Superb unused. This left-hand marginal imperforate example lettered C-G has perfect colour matched by stunning period-striated original gum. Expertly repaired, average to good used example of this particularly difficult to find key high value. Reverse proofer's mark. Take a good look around to see how little is available.
