Abnormal (ERROR) Plate 12 6d. Pale Chestnut letters D-I (fine used) on small piece is Genuine (RPSL Expert Committee photo-certificate 'AFTER COMPARISON' 2004). The rare ERROR - termed 'ABNORMAL' and bearing an * upon the SG124a* listing to denote abnormal status. Trimmed Imperforate left-hand wing margin stunning fine colour very fine cancelled '107' obliterator (killer cancel type), but in this instance near perfectly defined '107' for BRADFORD. A cracking example. Perhaps only a few dozen extant. We may not see another example for some years. Howlingly RARE (1v. + RPSL photo-certificate 2004)

QV 1873 3d. Rose Plate 11. Very fine and fresh unused o.g. imperforate top marginal IMPRIMATUR lettered A-F. As Gibbons retail card (supplied) states: very rare, one of only 22 possible examples… many of which are in institutional collections. SG Specialised CV £2,500=. An imprimatur in stamp collecting is the very first sheet of stamps printed from a new, approved printing plate. QV Medium garter watermark 4d. Carmine upon thick, blued highly glazed paper, SPECIMEN Type 2 (Vertical). SUPERB unmounted mint never hinged S.W. corner marginal well-centred, fine colour 'POSTAGE' inscriptional multiple of x6 in 3x2 format. South-West example bears part trace of double type 2 vertical handstamp. The most extraordinarily RARE positional piece, all stamps UM mint never-hinged, fine colour well-centred and in EXHIBITION standard state of preservation. Multiples of this early period surface prints are exceptionally rare. E.G. SG Specialised states a block of 4 of the normal unoverprinted 4d. Carmine catalogues £60,000= against £11,000 for singles. Currently catalogued £1,200 in SPECIMEN Type 2 format, what premium price for an unmounted mint inscriptional corner block of SIX? Catalogued £1,200 x 6 SPECIMEN singles … £14,000= extrapolated catalogue value seems not unreasonable - but, more important - we suspect that this may be the only such example in private hands. 1884 Watermark Anchor 10s. COBALT Overprinted SPECIMEN type 9. Simply SUPERB unmounted mint full original gum never hinged example. 1862 6d. Deep lilac (plate 3) letters R-C. Described by S.G. as 'very fine and fresh unused original gum example'. Unobtrusive hinge trace, as near to perfect original gum as you will ever see. (This period o.g. may have a slight undulating effect). Lovely original colour. Obviously a treasured example in as near superb condition as may exist. Accompanied by Stanley Gibbons original retail card… priced £2,100=, some £300 more then than the current £1,800 catalogue value now. You won't find a better single. QV 9d. Straw (Plate 2) letters L-G. Supplied by SG retail price £2,650= and described as very fine well centred unused large part o.g. example lettered L-G, a very fresh example with lovely colour. SG Specialised J92(2) … in 54 years I have never seen a more perfect colour perfectly centred example of this very prone to fade shade. If this were a USA stamp of this period … with such centring, we are talking 100% to 500% premium to the catalogue value. This, however, is the UK.
