QV 1873 3d. Rose Plate 11. Very fine and fresh unused o.g. imperforate top marginal IMPRIMATUR lettered A-F. As Gibbons retail card (supplied) states: very rare, one of only 22 possible examples… many of which are in institutional collections. SG Specialised CV £2,500=. An imprimatur in stamp collecting is the very first sheet of stamps printed from a new, approved printing plate. Derived from the Latin word for 'let it be printed', these sheets serve as official physical records and colour proofs before a stamp is printed for public service. Magnificent colour. Superb unused. QV 2/- Brown letters I-G, well-centred fine colour example … for years we had a client willing to pay £5,000 for a near perfect 2/- Brown of this appearance which we never found for him, however 2013 RPSL photo-certificate (genuine) states top right corner torn off and (expertly) re-attached. 2s.
