Letters L-B, well-centred moderate aging attractive appearance average mint tiny part gum example displaying super paper bluing, in fact the aging appears to add to the charismatic 'patina' of this scarce high value catalogued £6,000= as normal mint, affordably priced as SPECIMEN type 9 (£625 catalogue value SPECIMEN type 9 overprint). 10s cobalt, IA, ovptd. SPECIMEN Type 9, a few blunted perfs at top right, o/wise fine l.m.m. Holcombe Cert. (1989) stating this is the paler of the two shades of cobalt. Cat. £3200 (SG Spec, 2011).

1884 Watermark Anchor 10s. COBALT Overprinted SPECIMEN type 9. Simply SUPERB unmounted mint full original gum never hinged example. (currently catalogued £3,400= in mint hinged condition - a 100% premium never hinged condition example). Perfect colour, near perfect centring lettered M-F. An inredibly rare stamp in this condition, and virtually the only practical way to acquire this otherwise £35,000= catalogue value major GB rarity were it without the SPECIMEN overprint. 142 year-old stamp in printed yesterday Post Office fresh 'over the Post Office counter original gum unmounted mint never hinged and Simply SUPERB. QV 2/- Brown letters I-G, well-centred fine colour example … for years we had a client willing to pay £5,000 for a near perfect 2/- Brown of this appearance which we never found for him, however 2013 RPSL photo-certificate (genuine) states top right corner torn off and (expertly) re-attached. 2s.
